“A sublime songwriter – I think he’s an incredible talent!” (Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2)
Americana UK Award Winner and lauded songwriter Robert Vincent, brings his full 5 piece band to the Wedgewood Rooms (seated show) for the first time, in support of the release of his fourth album.
It was the start of 2020 when Roberts 3rd LP, the critically-acclaimed “In This Town You’re Owned”, was released by Thirty Tigers and walked straight into a worldwide pandemic. Despite stalled promotional plans and tours, the record resonated enough to win the Americana Music Association UK’s Album Of The Year award for 2021. Receiving unanimous praise from all quarters, the record also charted at Number 2 in the UK Americana charts, and American Songwriter Magazine named it in its Top 20 albums in all genres of 2020.
It was Vincents powerful and soulful voice that attracted acolytes such as Bob Harris, Paul Carrack and Mary Chapin Carpenter. His 2018 album “I’ll Make The Most Of My Sins”, saw Bob Harris describing him as “absolutely magnetic” and “the real deal”, and he was invited to perform on the BBC “Old Grey Whistle Test, For One Night Only”, closing the show. It was a performance that would propel him to Number 1 & 2 in the I Tunes Album and Singles chart.
“A phenomenal, spiritual listen!” (Sunday Times)
The new album “has a more concise sound”, Robert says. “The songs arrived throughout 2022 and are born fro personal experiences rather than the social commentary of the last album. This is a very intimate set of tunes”.
Notable performances include supporting Roger Waters at Hyde Park, 2023 Celtic Connections at Glasgow Theatre Royal with Mary Chapin Carpenter, tours with Paul Carrack and Duane Eddy who gifted him with one of his signature Gretsch guitars after his 80th birthday celebration at The London Palladium.
